怎么样理解a lifetime of experience

牛津9的lifetime词条下有个短语，a lifetime of experience 毕生的经验
这里的lifetime好像变成了量词，像gallon，kilometer
但，别的词典找不到类似的使用方法，所以想请教老师，lifetime如此用的道理是什么？
two days vacation;a two-day vacation都非常不错理解，照a lifetime of experience如此，我可以写two days of vacation吗？
