My Daughter

My daughter is eleven years old and has been my best friend and my inspirationto keep me going through my days of sorrow and my days of happiness. I wasdiagnosed with cancer in March of 2002 and went through chemotherapy for over ayear.

She never gave up hope in me; I was the one giving up on myself. I think she's alot wiser and smarter than I was. I was in and out of the hospital so much andso very sick.

She took care of me, washed dishes, did laundry, and householdchores. To me, that wasn't important.

What was important was what she told me one day:“Mommy, get down on your kneeswith me, hold my hand, and pray with me.” My daughter and I have a closerelationship. She doesn't want much or ask for much. The only thing she askedfor at Christmas was that her mommy gets better.

I am in remission and intend to hopefully stay that way. I wanted my daughter toknow that I love her with all my heart and I will always be there no matter whatobstacles she comes to. Mommy loves you.
